Terms of service

The agreement between you and Keyvata Ltd when you use the platform.

Last reviewed: 17 August 2026

These early-access terms describe how Keyvata works today. A full, lawyer-reviewed agreement will replace them before general launch.

Using Keyvata

Keyvata is operated by Keyvata Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria. You must be able to enter a binding contract, provide accurate information, and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Browsing is open to everyone. Messaging, booking, listing, and receiving payments require an account and, at the appropriate stage, identity verification.

Listings and bookings

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for honouring confirmed bookings. Keyvata verifies identity and reviews listings before they go live, but is not the owner, landlord, agent, or seller of any space and is not a party to the agreement between host and guest.

Property sales. Keyvata confirms what title document a seller claims and verifies identity. Independent legal search, survey, and title perfection remain your solicitor's responsibility. We do not guarantee title or transfer of ownership.

Payments and protection

Payments made through Keyvata are processed by Paystack and held until the conditions for release are met — for example, confirmation that a space matches its description or check-in for a short stay. The visible state of a payment (held, released, disputed) is shown in your account.

Never pay outside Keyvata. Transfers, cash, or payments to personal accounts carry none of these protections and are a common fraud signal. Report any host who asks you to pay off-platform.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, raise it through the platform while a payment is still held where possible. Include photographs and messages on the booking record. Keyvata may review evidence and pause release of funds. Our decision on escrow is without prejudice to any legal rights you have against the other party.

What is not allowed

Fraud, misrepresentation, harassment, discrimination, listing property you do not have the right to offer, and any attempt to move a transaction off-platform to avoid protection. Breaking these terms can lead to suspension, removal, and referral to authorities where appropriate.

Liability

Keyvata provides the platform as-is and is not liable for the conduct of users or the condition of any property, to the extent Nigerian law allows. Nothing here removes rights you have under applicable consumer protection law. For privacy practices, see our privacy policy.
