How it works
From first look to front door.
Keyvata sits between two strangers and makes the risky parts boring: who you are dealing with, what it costs, and when the money moves.
If you are looking
Six steps, no surprises.
Every step leaves a record, so neither side has to rely on memory.
- 01
Search honestly
Filter by what actually matters — budget, area, and how long you need the space.
- 02
Ask before you travel
Message the host through Keyvata. Questions and answers stay on the record.
- 03
Inspect with a record
Book the viewing in the app, so there is proof of who you met and when.
- 04
Pay into protection
Your money is held rather than handed over, until the agreement is confirmed.
- 05
Confirm and move in
Once you confirm the space is as described, funds are released to the host.
- 06
Keep the paperwork
Receipts, agreements, and messages stay in your account after you move.
If you are hosting
List once, get paid on delivery.
Hosting is open to landlords, short-stay hosts, and venue owners.
- 01
Verify who you are
A one-time identity check before your first listing goes live.
- 02
List the space truthfully
Current photographs, real costs, and the rules you actually enforce.
- 03
Get paid on delivery
Funds are released once the guest or tenant confirms the space is as described.
What protects you
Four things working in the background.
Identity checks
Hosts are checked before listings go live, at a level that matches what they are offering.
Held payments
Money sits in protection until both sides confirm, so nobody pays into a promise.
Messages on the record
Agreements made in chat stay available to both sides if anything is disputed.
Itemised costs
Rent, deposits, and fees are listed separately, before you commit to anything.
Your money
Where a payment sits, at any moment.
You can see which state a booking is in from your account at any time.
Payment received, not released
You have paid and the host can see it, but the money has not moved to them yet.
Both sides agree
You have confirmed the space matches what was described, or the stay has begun.
Paid to the host
Funds move to the host, and both sides keep a receipt in their account.
Under review
Raised by either side. The money stays held while the evidence is reviewed.
Questions
The ones people ask first.
What does Keyvata charge?
Fees are shown on the listing before you commit. There is no charge for browsing or messaging a host.
When exactly is my money released?
After you confirm the space is as described, or shortly after check-in for a short stay. Until then it stays held.
What if a listing turns out to be wrong?
Raise it while the payment is still held. Because the money has not moved, a dispute can be resolved before anyone is out of pocket.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. Browsing is open. An account is needed to message a host, save a search, or book.
Have a look around.
Browsing is open to everyone. Create an account when you find something worth saving.
